Evolution of Motherwave to Soulwave to The Infinite Wave
Infinite Wave Institute: 2010
After a much-needed 2+-year hiatus from teaching (after about 15 busy years), for writing and attending to family matters, Katie is now birthing a very different phase or Wave:
The Infinite Wave (or i-Wave) transcends and includes the work of motherwave and soulwave. The focus now is on Awakening into Oneness, with attention to the skillful, wavy navigation of the process of dissolution or meltdown that many people are now experiencing.
Katie will be presenting this work in talks and trainings soon. For now, you can get a taste by working one-on-one in PRIVATE SESSIONS.
Motherwave Institute 1994-2004Motherwavework was birthed from an awakening in 1994 in which Katie experienced herself for several days as one with a wavy, oceanic field that extended infinitely in all directions, and showed her how to melt down unwanted thoughts, feelings, and other inner "stuff" into the infinite ocean, which told her to call it "the motherwave." Everything else it told her took many years to unravel!
Motherwave Institute 1994-2004
Motherwavework was birthed from an awakening in 1994 in which Katie experienced herself for several days as one with a wavy, oceanic field that extended infinitely in all directions, and showed her how to melt down unwanted thoughts, feelings, and other inner "stuff" into the infinite ocean, which told her to call it "the motherwave." Everything else it told her took many years to unravel!
7 levels or "Waves" of Motherwave trainings (each about 60 hours long!) were taught by Katie and later by others, for about ten years, to about 1000 people. Major life changes in 2004 caused Kathryn to dissolve Motherwave Institute, and later continue the work in Soulwave Institute.
Soulwave Institute 2004-2007
Soulwavework came forth from a more surrendered place than Motherwave. Katie was realizing that she had been moving too far into trying to create and manifest realities, and had lost the ability to surrender to, and trust Source to provide, guide and unfold a magical, soul-based path.
A different frequency of student showed up, more interested in integrated spiritual experience than in gaining more power to control their lives. Soulbody work was also born and taught in Hawaii for two years, and many students trained as Soulwave Practitioners.
The Infinite Wave... It's about waves, the evolution of consciousness
from DRY to WET, and more...
Life is made up of waves. Waves-R-Us, at every level.
If you look at your fingertips, you can see how the prints look like a beach after a wave has been through... That wave that went through your body in the womb, creating all the swirling shapes, and sustaining all the spiraling movements that are your life, is your soul, or soulwave. It is you on a journey thru time and space, in your true form as wavenot particleenergy and consciousness in motionnot a thing or even a real "self" ...
Your unique soul or soulwave is a direct expression of the Infnite Ocean of Consciousness, or Source, which also moves in and out of manifestation, from existence to consciousness, and back, in waves. Everything we see as a thing or phenomenon is really a confluence of waves, including our so-called self! We get fixated by various stressful experiences and start to feel deeply separate from the ocean or Infinite Wave of which we are an in-dividual expression, and from which we have never really been divided. But our feeling of separation brings all our ghastly suffering.
DRY IN HELL:
This dream or nightmare of apparent separation is characterized by a movement in a being's experience from being WET: = merged in the wavy flow of our oceanic source, taken care of and held within The Infinite Wave which contains everything, is everywhere, loves and cares for us and guides us personally...
to being DRY: = separate from life and others, doomed to spend our lives fighting for survival, recognition, support, love, supply, health and a sense of belonging.
All Kathryn's Waves of work have been designed to take students from DRY back to WET. Now, as the work of The Infinite Wave begins, the journey is truly the shift from Twoness into Oneness, from everyday hypnotic consciousness into an awakened experience that we are meant to abide in. What do you do with people in Private Sessions?
I'm not sure... good question...
I've been working with groups and individuals pretty continuously for around 30 years (and before that I traveled for 10 years as a monk, teaching meditation in South America and elsewheresee my bio). So how I work is informed by doing it for so long that what I really notice when I work with someone is not so much their personality or even their stuck patterns, as a very loud signal from the part of them that is trying to birth itself.
Birth itself into what?
Into a new level of experience, a new possibility of human joy. And in many ways, that birth is a death. Many of us were overtly or covertly lost in a Narcissistic New Age fantasy in which birthing into our greater potential was a sort of ultimate ego enhancement, like "if I get 'realized' I'll finally be specialand that will heal all my childhood wounds!' And the School of Life has some of us now realizing that what really integrates the so-called "painbody" is a radical dissolution into Oneness, where we're not special at all, but we are whole. Yet although a couple of well-known enlightened ones seem to have just fallen into this overnight, for many of us the journey is more gradual, more detailed.
Of course, nowadays, everyone I see is somewhere on this journey into Oneness, because that's where I am... Yet awakening at this level often requires the shedding of what is in the way, and most people need some emotional, mental or even bodily clearing in order for this wild potential to break through the personal and collective "grid."
You have a reputation for getting people through their stuff very quickly. What techniques do you use?
Well, I don't think my "nurturing-Mother / middle-linebacker intensity," as one person kindly called itis exactly a technique, but of course I do use a bag of tricksthe 2% of all the methods in which I've been certified over the decades that actually work, and especially those that I've developed personally through trainings and sessions, like wave-breathing™, belief-waving™, body-waving™, radical hypnogression™, Meltdown™, and fluid inquiry, to name but a few...
What's the scoop and the small print?
Private Sessions are $125-$150 per hour (55 mins) by phone (or in person, if you live in the SF Bay Area). Phone sessions can be booked by PayPal, thru the links on the right, and you can e-mail me at doorwave_comcast.net, to schedule. Price depends on number of sessionsthere are "deals" if you buy a series. I recommend 1 session, to see if the work works for you, and then a commitment to a series, so we can really go deep. Bio of Katie Darling M.S.U.*
Katie was born in England to two British atheist physicists. Her parents had been drafted during
World War 2 to work on developing the bomb, to stop Hitler. Horrified by the Hiroshima apocalypse, they pioneered the campaign against nuclear weapons, and later, the English anti-nuclear movement met in Katie's living room, as she was growing up. The walls were decorated with posters showing mushroom clouds. It was a potent atmosphere for nuclear meltdown of all kinds.
After her nuclear family melted down, she found herself in an unexpected spiritual awakening while studying psychology at Sussex university. Surprised to meet God within, she dedicated her life throughout her twenties, as a full-vow monk serving her Eastern spiritual teacher, who sent her around the world spreading his message of meditation. She spent years in Spain and South America, ending up in the States where, to her surprise, she married a fellow-monk and became an American.
As she emerged from what was becoming an increasingly dysfunctional involvement with her teacher, she found that she was not in the great inner shape that one might expect after 12 years of meditation, service and spiritual discipline. In fact, she was a mess, emotionally and physically. She realized the imbalance of going "up, up, infinitely up," (as her teacher once put it), and began a process of coming down into her body and emotions and including them in her spiritual path. Her teaching of "descension" rather than ascension was considered very radical back then (1984).
In her thirties, after a very short time exploring this more integrated spiritual approach, (and before even thinking of putting out a shingle) Katie found herself with a waiting list of people wanting her help in recovering their lost parts. Her early clients were often followers of her teacher and, later, of many other teachers, who wanted help in deepening their spiritual journey while reclaiming their lives from teachers or groups. And people (and couples) with every other imaginable issue showed up, and have shown up consistently ever since. (SCROLL DOWN)
As well as working intuitively, Katie also became certified in multiple spiritual, body-centered, mental and emotional practices, like: channeling of spirit guides, rebirthing, hypnotherapy, various systems of core belief change, Reichian work, NLP, Avatar (which she taught for years), yoga (40 years), various systems of Qi Gong, Alexander Technique, Continuum, Reiki (to name a few). As she worked with more and more people for the next 15 years, she synthesizedher own methods based on her experience of the small number of approaches that seemed to work (beyondthe "placebo effect!")
Then, in her mid-forties, in 1994, she hid a hard, opaque-seeming wall. Sick and broke for about nine months, too tired to practice all her practices, she found herself dissolvingdying and birthinginto an ocean of waves spanning all dimensionsfrom her body, through spirit realms, into the Oneness realmand back. The experience lasted for 3 days. This wavy field told her it was called "the Motherwave," and that the process she was experiencing was "the Meltdown." Shortly after this she jumped out of bed and started teaching the Motherwave trainings, a mystery school with 7 levels (each about 60 hours) of which the central technique was The Meltdown™ (a term which she copyrighted in 1995), and which she still teaches, in a more evolved form.
A couple of interesting sidebars about the Meltdown: 1) it was several years before she saw the connection between this positive meltdown experience and the negative meltdown she had feared throughout her childhood. 2) The word meltdown has recently become popular lingo for a negative breakdown. Yet, of course, the Meltdown technique™ is all about a helpful, healing ability to dissolve unwanted thoughtforms and other "psychic tumors" in our painbodies.
Katie continued teaching Motherwave trainings, which continued to pour through the opening created by her original, spontaneous meltdown (and subsequent deliberate ones), for 10 years. She experienced a near-continuous download of integrative and practical information that continues to this day.
In 2004, Motherwave Institute was dissolved, along with her marriage and many other aspects of her life, including her belief in the matrix or hologram in which we all struggle to survive. A profound spiritual dark night ensued, during which she resurrected a more subtle and surrendered version of the work as Soulwave, in Soulwave Institute, for 3 years. Many students became advanced practitioners of motherwave/soulwavework, and some of the best transmissions of the essence of the teaching happened during this time.
In 2008, after spending most of 14 years teaching seminars with an intense schedule, she was guided to take a hiatus. She has been involved in intense spiritual deepening, and has been writing several books, receiving transmission from a deeper, more lucid source than before. The 3 main books coming through right now are: an introduction to her work; a book on love relationships and God; and a book on the Meltdown. A new teaching Wave of her work, The Infinite Wave, has appeared, (in early 2010) and is currently being shared one-on-one with students. Infinite Wave trainings will be coming forth as life unfolds.

Doorwave means: a wave that carries you through the doorway.
....WHAT DOORWAY?
Do you feel as though you are trying to find a door, or stuck in the doorway, or even a corridor? The joke goes: When one door closes, another opens, but man, these corridors are a bitch! Yet... how funny is the corridor feeling, right now? How long have you been in transition? For some of us, it feels as though we have been in a transformational process for our entire lives. Permanent, chronic transitionitis! For others, things were going along just fine until they werent', and now we're trying to make some sense of radical losses, instability, chaos...
What doorway am I talking about? For some, it's just a vaguely-felt longing for something beyond the grind of daily struggle. For others, its that mysterious portal in reality that opened for you, that time you had your awakening experience, or your brief visit to enlightenment or Oneness or Godness. You know how you got there, more or less. Yet here you are again, anxious about things, about yourself, your money, health condition, relationships, trying to control your so-called life. In other words, it was a revolving door and it spat you back out into the anteroom. You may still be talking the enlightened talk, but you're not yet walking the walk of truly feeling that freedom from fear, that joy and love that you knew on the other side.
Perhaps, to get back there, you keep trying the same formula over and overa spiritual practice, a lover or teacher, even a diet or a magic plantin hopes of getting back. But you can't go back the same way, because the doorway has moved. The doorway is the doorway to Real Life, and life is fluid, like a river. "You can never step in the same river twice," said Heraclitus, (one of the few Greek philosophers who was into Oneness rather than Twoness, and the dynamic fluid nature of things, rather than some idealized concept of stillness).
Can you relate to the feeling of trying to get through a doorway, a portal, into what feels like the other side of yourself? You may have read, or heard, or you may remember that THIS IS NOT ALL THERE IS. Life's pains, losses and stresses, especially your own unmanageable mind and tendencies, may have brought you to your knees, and that is one way of knocking at the door. Success and getting what you thought you wanted can be stressful enough sometimes to bring you to the doorway quite quickly. Fear, especially, can have you banging on the door, demanding to be freed from your mind.
I find myself in this doorway. I spend periods of opeaceful time in Oneness, yet learning to abide continuously in the experience of being-with-God is the work, for me. Or the non-work, non-doing... which is it? Parts of me are resisting their dissolution, like children having a mega-tantrum, and parts of me just feel like they just can't quite feel it, be it, live it. But don't worry, I'm not going to start talking about parts and having them talk to each other! Enough of that! There is only One they should be talking to!
